Important health implications across the lifespan: challenges of ageing faced by people with Down syndrome.

The health consequences of ageing are a significant issue for people with Down syndrome, including higher rates and earlier onset of dementia, depression and anxiety and oral health problems.  This one-day Health Conference is for parents and carers of people with Down syndrome. 


When: Friday 27th September 2019 Where: Novotel Sydney Central, 169-179 Thomas Street Sydney Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm Cost: *$150pp for registered parent members of Down Syndomre NSW. $250pp for organisations, professionals and service providers.

 With an impressive list of health professional presenters, you will learn:

  • more about the health issues faced by people with Down syndrome as they age
  • practical strategies to manage health conditions associated with ageing
  • how to assist family members with strategies to manage their helath as they age
  • how to raise issues and concerns with your health care team

The Health Conference is just two days prior to our annual StepUP! event in The Domain, Sydney, Sunday 29th September.  If you are travelling from regional NSW for the conference, you may want to make a weekend of it and come along to StepUP!
