This module provides information on the latest research and practical classroom strategies to support educators to maximise outcomes for students with Down syndrome.

Content includes the unique learning profile of a student with Down syndrome, working memory, communication and behaviour, social skills and friendships and practical examples of supports for use in both the classroom and the playground.

Down Syndrome: An Update for Early Childhood professionals

This module provides an overview of the learning profile of a young child with Down syndrome. It is specifically designed to equip Early Childhood professionals with an understanding of the characteristics associated with DS, their impact on learning and practical strategies to best support the child and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Supporting Social Skills & Friendships

A contemporary overview of the social development of students with Down syndrome. This module includes practical strategies to support development of social skills and friendships both in and outside the classroom.
