Introduction to Dementia and Discussion Workshop
The Ageing Well Initiative interactive workshop kicked off in Parramatta on Tuesday 23rd July 2024 and was an enormous success, thank you to everyone who attended. It was lovely seeing familiar faces and catching up with others. Individuals with Down syndrome are living longer and healthier lives, thanks to advances in medical care and social support.
The goal of this initiative is to create a supportive network where we all come together to learn from professionals and each other, share ideas and concerns and to get emotional support on this next life stage of ageing well. We know from when we began our journey with our loved ones with Down syndrome, we all connected through the many pathways of early intervention, therapies, Down syndrome membership and support, making lifelong friends, that we learn so much from.
This initiative is an organic process, and we thank all of you who attended and contributed to the discussion, it was wonderful to witness your warmth and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting/workshop.
