Up! for Fun: Picnic & Games

Supporting Down Syndrome NSW

Join us to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in style, by taking part in our newest community event inspired by the Olympics. 

Date: Sunday, 20th October 2024 

Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM 

Location: Crescent Precinct, The Domain, Sydney 

Cost: FREE

ActivitiesThere are a range of activities on the day for all ages and abilities including; 

  • Enjoy a picnic in the park with a variety of food and beverage options available for purchase, including coffee, burgers, salads, popcorn, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Or feel free to pack your own picnic hamper. 
  • Mini Olympic-style games for all ages and abilities. 
  • A certain web-slinging superhero might just swing by the event. Keep your eyes peeled for someone climbing walls! 
  • An enchanting guest from a faraway frozen land will be joining us.  
  • Entertainment from Dance-ability. 
  • Arts and crafts hosted by Bunnings. 
  • Face painting. 
  • Have a close look at a Fire Truck with Fire and Rescue NSW making an appearance.
  • And much more!

What is the wet weather plan?

Keep an eye on your emails on Friday, 18th October for any updates regarding wet weather changes.

Will food and beverages be available?

There will be some food and beverage options onsite. You can also BYO your own picnic. 

What is the closest car park?

Closest Parking - Wilson Parking, The Domain (Take the Art Gallery of NSW exit). The Domain Car Park | St Mary's Cathedral Parking (wilsonparking.com.au)

Can I catch public transport?

The closest train station is St James Station (9 minute walk).

What if I can't attend the event but still wish to fundraise?

Even if you can’t attend UP! for Fun: Picnic & Games, you can still support Down Syndrome NSW by fundraising to help us further our mission.

Do I need to participate in the mini olympic games?

If you’d prefer not to join in the games, you’re still welcome to come along, cheer for your favorite team, enjoy a picnic, and soak up the entertainment.

What is the cost of UP! for Fun: Picnic & Games

Adult - $20 
Child - $10 
I’m a fundraiser and have already raised $100* 
I’m a fundraising and intend to have raised $100 by 14th October ** 

*per person wishing to participate e.g. if you have a team of 4 you need to raise $400 to receive a complimentary ticket for each person  

** fundraisers who select this option and haven’t fundraised $100 per person by this date will be contacted by a Down Syndrome NSW staff member to take payment on 14th October
